Types of Fencing

Waney Edge Fence Panels
Waney Edge fence panels are a popular and traditional style of fencing. These heavy duty fence panels are pressure treated and look superb in just about any style of garden. They are made up of a timber frame with boards that are partially horizontally overlapped. Our Waney Edge fence panels are available with or without trellis and are manufactured from softwood timber, predominantly pine. If maintained, they should have a desired service life of ten years.

Our Waney Edge fencing panels are very strong and solid as they are manufactured with 5 battens on each side. They are suitable for all types of gardens have been treated with a preservative to give them their appealing golden brown colour. Waney Edge Panels are a hard-wearing and attractive form of fencing at a sensible price. They are always constructed between evenly shaped, 75mm x 75mm or 100mm x 100mm posts.

W/Board Panels
W/Board stands for weatherboard. This is also known as Feather Edge & Close Board Fencing and is a very durable and traditional style of vertical fencing. W/Board panels are the heaviest duty panel we offer at Nelson Potter Limited.

Our weatherboard fencing panels are manufactured from softwood timber and are a very strong and reliable form of fencing. W/Board half-lapped panels are suitable for all types of gardens as they are so long-lasting and they are also ideal for commercial installations. Provided they are maintained, weatherboard panels should have a desired service life of 15 to 20 years.

Here at Nelson Potter Limited we offer two types of W/Board panels – imported weatherboard panels which are fully-framed and half-lapped using 60 mm x 27 mm timbers and W/Board panels made on site which we can make up to a maximum of 1.828 m x 1.828 m. They are both pressure treated and nailed using weather proof 40 mm triple life galvanised ring shank nails. These offer a better grip than ordinary nails as they stay firmly in place if the wood swells.

Our on-site W/board fencing panels use 2 ex 150 mm x 22 mm W/Boards nailed to 75 mm x 34 mm horizontal rails and are available in a variety of sizes. They can also be made to a size of your choice. Our Imported W/Board fencing panels are available in the following sizes: 1.828 (w) x 0.919 m (h); 1.828 (w) x 1.210 m (h); 1.828 m (w) x 1.525 m (h); 1.828 m (w) x 1.65 m (h) and 1.828 (w) x 1.828 (h).

Willow Panels
Willow panels are an attractive, natural form of fencing which give a wonderful rustic look to your garden. They are a great alternative to simple classic wooden fencing panels and are heavy duty, although not as strong as conventional fencing panels. Willow fence panels are ideal for all types of domestic gardens and also look striking in recreation areas, such as parks. We import our hand-woven willow panels from a regularly-harvested plantation. As this is a natural product, you may notice some variations in colour, which adds to the character of these eye-catching panels.

Here at Nelson Potter Limited, we offer three types of willow panels. These include fully framed willow panels with a stunning convex top or fully framed willow panels with a straight top. These heavy duty and robust panels are framed on 45 mm x 45 mm treated timber and are available in the following sizes: 1.8 m (w) x 1.5 m (h) and 1.8 m (w) x 1.8 m (h).

We also sell traditional willow panels with a rustic effect which are available in the following sizes: 0.9 m (w) x 1.2 m (h); 0.9 m (w) x 1.5 m (h); 0.9 m (w) x 1.8 m (h); 1.8 m (w) x 0.9 m (h); 1.8 m (w) x 1.2 m (h); 1.8 m (w) x 1.5 m (h) and 1.8 m (w) x 1.8 m (h).

Hazel Panels
Hazel panels are a beautiful and natural alternative to conventional wooden fencing panels. They are a light, but strong form of fencing, although are not as robust as traditional fencing panels. Hazel fence panels are hand-woven and add a wonderful, classic rustic look to any type of garden. They are ideal for domestic gardens as well as recreational areas such as parks. We import our hazel panels from a regularly harvested plantation. As this is a natural product, there may be some variations in colour, which adds to the character of this superb style of fencing.

Our hazel fencing panels are available in the following sizes: 0.9 m (w) x 1.5 m (h); 0.9 m (w) x 1.8 m (h); 1.8 m (w) x 0.9 m (h); 1.8 m (w) x 1.2 m (h); 1.8 m (w) x 1.5 m (h) and 1.8 m (w) x 1.8 m (h).

Decorative Panels
Decorative panels are an attractive form of fencing which will beautify your home and garden. They offer a great alternative to simple classic wooden panelling and suit all types of gardens. Our decorative panels are made from a softwood timber of mixed species and have been pressure treated. They are very strong and have a desired service life of 15 years. The wood we use for our decorative panels is FSC certified, which means they are produced from a sustainable, responsibly managed forest.

Here at Nelson Potter Limited, we have a wide selection of decorative panels to choose from. These include:

The Reinas Mod, which has fully framed and multi lap jointed corners and a superb diamond trellis at the top of the convex. This comes in the following sizes: 1.8 m x 1.1/0.9 m (width, centre height and shoulder); 1.8 m x 1.1/1.3 m and 1.8 m x 1.8/1.6 m.

Reinas Mod-1 has fully framed and multi lap joined corners and a diamond trellis to the top of the concave. Our sizes are 1.8 m x 0.9/0.9 m (width, centre height and shoulder); 1.8 m x 1.3/1.1 m and 1.8 m x 1.6/1.4 m. Also available in the Reinas Mod range is a matching gate.

The Neris (1.8 m x 1.8/1.6 m width, centre height and shoulder) has fully framed and multi lap jointed corners and a beautiful diamond trellis at the top of the panel. It has a wavy convex top.

The Neris-1 has a wavy concave top and measures 1.8 m x 1.6 /1.4 m (width, centre height and shoulder).

The fully framed Madrid decorative panel has an attractive diagonal design and a convex top and multi lap jointed corners. It comes in two sizes 1.8 m x 1.2/ 1m and 1.8 m x 1.8 /1.6 m (width, centre height and shoulder).

The Madrid-1 (1.8 m x 1.8/1.6 m width, centre height and shoulder) has an attractive diagonal design and a wavy convex top. It is fully framed with multi lap jointed corners. Also available in the Madrid style range is a matching gate.

The beautiful Wels fencing panel has a horizontal design with a straight top and a diamond trellis. They are fully framed with multi-lap jointed corners and measures 1.8 m (w) x 1.8 m (h).

The Roma features a diagonal design and a straight top. It is fully framed with multi lap jointed corners and measures 1.8 m (w) x 1.8 m (h).

The Milano has a simple classic design with horizontal panels and a straight top. It is fully framed with multi lap jointed corners. It measures 1.8 m (w) x 1.8 m (h).

The Syrius-Mod has horizontal panels and a curved top featuring a diamond trellis. Each panel measures 0.9 x 1.6/0.9 m (width, centre height and shoulder).

Trellis
A trellis is a superb addition to a garden. Attractive and functional, it can either be free standing or used together with traditional wooden fencing panels, either on top of the fencing, or fixed to a wall or fence to support climbing plants. Trellising is useful for sectioning off areas of a garden and can also be built into a pergola to create a wonderful garden feature. Trellising placed on top of traditional fencing not only looks striking, but also gives it more height to create greater privacy.

Trellising can be used to support climbing plants such as ivy, roses, honeysuckle, wisteria, grapevines, tomatoes, sweet peas and clematis. 

Here at Nelson Potter Limited we sell a variety of trellising, including fan trellis, which is designed to support climbing plants, for instance grape vines, roses and tomatoes. They are available in two sizes 1.5 m (w) x 0.65 m (h) and 1.8 m (w) x 0.9 m (h).

We also offer 150 mm square and 100 mm square trellis with a straight, convex or concave top. These are available in seven different sizes or can be made to your size on-site up to a maximum of 1.828 m (w) x 1.828 m (h). We also sell a variety of diamond trellis with a straight, convex or concave top. The maximum size is 1.8 m (w) x 1.8 m (h).
