Sawn Timber
Sawn timber is a plank or length of board which can be cut to a variety of sizes and has a multitude of uses.  Sawn timber can be used for general building work and in gardens for shed construction, raised beds, path edging, fencing and pergola construction. The list is endless.
All our sawn timber is priced per metre. Just order the quantity as a total length and we will contact you do discuss your length cutting requirements. As your wood will be delivered to you ready cut using our extensive on-site facilities, it will help reduce your cost and saves you valuable time.   

Our sawn timber is pressure treated in ACQ Green to hazard class 4 (BSEN 3351). We offer a wide range of sawn timber at competitive prices starting from 29 p per metre (38 mm x 16 mm) up to £15.60 per metre (200mm x 200 mm).

Timber Fence Panels
Timber fence panels have a functional and decorative use. They can be used for privacy, separate a large garden into separate areas or to keep children and pets within the confines of the garden. They also serve to enhance the exterior of a property.

Here at Nelson Potter timber merchants, we sell a wide range of timber fencing in a variety of sizes, styles and materials including pine, willow and hazel. Our timber fence panels include traditional Waney Edge fence panels, hard-wearing weatherboard panels and willow and hazel panels which provide a great alternative to conventional wooden fencing panels.  We also sell a superb range of decorative panels (with a range of convex, concave and straight top designs), picket fencing panels and trellising. 

All our fence panels are pressure treated, with the exception of our hand-weaved willow and hazel panels. Our fence panels come in a variety of sizes and some are made on site to your requirements up to a maximum of 1.828 x 1.828 m.

Timber Posts
A timber post can be defined as a piece, or section of timber that is fixed firmly in an upright position. Timber posts are widely used in timber frame construction and can also be used as fence and gate posts.

At Nelson Potter we sell a range of hard and softwood timber posts. Our selection includes 2.1 m and 2.4 m Timber Gate Posts with a pyramid top as standard. These timber gate posts have been pressure treated in ACQ Green to HC4 (BSEN 3351) standards. They vary in size and include: 125 mm x 125 mm gate post 2.1 m; 125 mm x 125 mm gate post 2.4 m; 150 mm x 150 mm gate post 2.4 m; 175 mm x 175 mm gate post 2.4 m and 200 mm x 200 mm gate post 2.4 m.

Our 75 mm x 75 mm 100 % pine (Redwood) Softwood Posts and 100 mm x 100 mm Softwood Timber Posts are FSC Certified, which means they are produced from a sustainable and responsibly managed forest. They are pressure treated in ACQ Green or Brown to hazard Class 4 (BSEN3351) and vary in height from 1.2 m up to 3 m, for our 75 mm x 75 mm Softwood Posts and 1.2 m up to 3.6 m for our 100 mm x 100 mm Softwood Timber Posts.

Our Hardwood Oak Posts have a standard pyramid top (for gate posts) and have wax cured ends to prevent splitting. There are several options and they also vary in height from 2.4 m up to 3.6 m. We also sell Wooden Slotted Pin Grooved Posts (95 x 95 mm and 2.4 m in height). These have a shaped-dome top, 50 mm wide wooden slots and have been pressure treated in green.

Timber Rounds
Timber rounds can be used for decorative purposes such as for flower bed borders, post and rail fencing, log retaining walls, tree stakes, equestrian jump poles, stakes for electric fencing, tree house construction and equipment construction. Half rounds are idea for rail fencing, path edging and cladding.

We sell 50 mm, 60 mm, 75 mm, 100 mm 125 mm machine rounds and half rounds of varying lengths, with prices starting at £1.37 for a 50 mm 1.2 m machine round and £1.51 for a 1.8 m half round. A large number of our rounds are pointed, to make it easier to install. We also sell 150 mm machine rounds pointed (2.1 m and 2.4 m) and blank (2.4 m, 3 m and 3.6 m) and 200 mm machine rounds pointed (2.4 m) and blank (3.6 m). Our timber rounds and half rounds are all 100 % pine and ACQ pressure treated to HC4 (BSEN3351) standards.

Timber Gates
Timber gates can be used to provide access to fields, parks or woodland, or private gardens in the towns or countryside. They can be used on their own flanked by hedgerow or teamed with wire fencing (in the countryside) or with timber fencing to provide a more uniform look to a private garden.

Small gates, such as picket gates work well in front and back gardens and can also be used to separate different sections of a garden. A tall timber gate can be used for decorative and functional purposes, such as at the end of a walk-through arch in a garden. Tall timber gates can also be used as side gates, particularly if you have a terraced house in the town with a shared alley leading to the back.

Here at Nelson Potter we have a range of timber gates in plain or classic rustic styles as well as gates to match our decorative panels, featuring convex, concave or straight tops and diamond trellis at the top. We also offer weatherboard and heavy duty pedestrian gates for homes and businesses, picket gates, cottage gates, country gates, farm gates and entrance gates. Our gates come in a range of sizes and most are available with left or right hanging options.

We have a selection of high quality pressure-treated field gates and entrance gates. Our 1.09 m high Field Gates and 1.03 m high Entrance Gates come in a variety of widths and we offer a made to measure service to suit your exact requirements. These gates are made from kiln dried high quality redwood timber and are available in left or right hanging options. They can provide access to fields or driveways.

Timber Decking
Timber decking can instantly transform your garden. Place a table and chairs on it to make an outside eating area, use it as a play area or simply for relaxation. 

Nelson Potter cater for all your garden decking needs and sell a range of products including softwood decking, decorative deck posts, hand rails, base rails and pin grooved spindles to help you create that perfect garden feature.

Our redwood timber decking is sold in 3.6 m, 4.2 m and 4.8 m sizes. The finish size of the deck board is 118 mm x 32 mm, for a nominal size of 125 mm x 32 mm. The timber is pressure treated in ACQ Green and conforms to HC4 (BESEN 3351) standards. Component parts such as handrails, deck posts and base rails are all available at Nelson Potter as optional extras.
